Busy Busy Busy !!!

Hitting the Gym, Cooking, Swimming, Painting, Visiting, & A New Fish!

You name it, we have probably had our hands in some part of it! January has been a busy month for us so far.

Lil D has been doing a fantastic job at his swimming lessons! His tiny toes could reach the bottom of the shallow end last summer. I have a feeling he'll want little to do with the kiddie pool this year! I'm looking forward to working with him in the "big kid" pool once summer arrives!  Ahhh....summer!!!!

Speaking of summer; I've been trying to "hit" the gym as much as possible and it is showing! (so exciting) :)

We had a busy weekend. Not only did Lil D have his swimming lesson, but I picked up some water color and paint brushes for him. This kept him busy all weekend. We painted some pictures together and he did a bunch on his own. Of course we had to paint a picture of Blueberry! Lil D's Betta Fish:) We picked her out this past Sunday and got her all "set up". We also visited my nephew Sam, who Lil D just loves hanging out with!

Getting Blueberry's "house" all set up!

For dinner tonight we made Sweet and Slightly Spicy Shrimp with Brown Rice and Italian Style Green Beans. Shrimp is one of Lil D's favorites. If it wasn't for that these would have been totally SPICY! However I have to take care of that little tongue;) I was so happy to see Lil D eat these green beans just like french fries!

Sooo... it is a start.... I posted a pic of the meal. Now I 'gotta" get the recipes on here! If anyone knows of the best way or website to use to add recipes to my blog, please leave me a comment! Thank you!!!

A fresh start for the New Year!

Hello 2013!

Snow Tubing was a success! I definitely recommend it, especially if you have a lil guy like mine! Next time I'll have lil D wear a face mask as his chubby lil cheeks were bright red. The hotel was great. We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express in Stroudsburg, PA. http://www.hiexpress.com/hotels/us/en/stroudsburg/srbex/hoteldetail?sicreative=8527012274&sicontent=0&sitrackingid=281427930&cm_mmc=Google-PS-HolidayInnExpress-_-G+B-AMER-%255BUSA%255D-East-_-%255BUSA%255D-%2528PA%2529-Stroudsburg-_-holiday+inn+express+stroudsburg&siclientid=1962
Camelback is only a five minute drive which was just perfect! We never made it to the outlets, but we'll save that for next time :)

We are off to a healthy start for 2013! I've prepared a few healthy meals (shrimp quesadillas with tomato and avocado salsa and flounder with roasted broccoli and onions) which I'm looking forward to sharing the recipes with you. My goal is to get the recipe portion of lilD&Mimi up and running as soon as I can! Wish me luck!!!

Learning as we go.

Heading... Back to Reality....

Christmas was quite busy and wonderful all at the same time. We talked to Lil D about Jesus' birthday and the meaning of Christmas.

We started off the celebrating at Grandpop's house this past Saturday. The food was delectable, the wine was smooth and satisfying (esp. the Lucky Star Pinot Nior), and time spent with family was heart warming.  All 3 grand kids each received a bike & helmet from Grandmother and Grandpop!

Grandpop!

On Sunday we finished up shopping and running errands. (Note to self: none of this last minute business for next year) It snowed on Christmas Eve for about an hour and a half or so!!! That was AWESOME! Lil D was excited:) We sat out cookies & milk for Santa and celery & carrots for the Reindeer.

After we got Lil D to bed, I made shrimp with butter, lime, and Old Bay. (I didn't have a lemon on hand). I also made scallops wrapped in bacon. We had a little cheese ball as well. I must say this was the best snacking while wrapping presents! Hopefully soon I will figure out how to link the recipe to my blog.

Christmas Day was busy with opening presents, playing with new toys, and preparing food for dinner.

In upcoming posts I hope to be able to add my recipes and some tabs for better organization!

We Did It!

4 Days Until Christmas!

We put the tree up last night! (with the help of Daddy of course!) We went a tad wild with the lights at the top, leaving the lighting a bit sparse at the bottom. I did read a tip on Pintrest to string the lights from top to bottom. {Why we didn't give it a go... I don't know ;)} Overall, the tree is just as perfect as could be and is all ready for Santa's delivery!!

Please note I am new to blogging and if I did not credit the website correctly... PLEASE by all means! Let me know and thank you!

Well, I'm off to get lil D to bed. Let the wrapping begin! We are celebrating early tomorrow with Grandpop!

Our first blog post EVER!

5 Days until Christmas

For some reason we haven't put our tree up yet! I think maybe because the focus has been on lil D's birthday. (which was 12/18!!) lil D did however have 3 birthday parties!!! Including a trip to mommom and poppop's at the beach!

I also booked our New Year's Weekend Vacation! Looks like we are heading to: http://www.skicamelback.com/Camelback-Mountain/Snowtubing.aspx!

Maybe we will get the tree up tonight??? Details to follow....
